How we use your details
Who we are. BoatTracker is run by Towpath Digital Ltd (company 16913912), which is registered with the ICO.
What we keep. When you send an enquiry or reserve a founding spot, we keep your name, email address, what you want to track, the plan you chose, your boat’s name if you give it, your question and the date. We also keep a short coded version of your network address for that day, to stop spam. It can’t be turned back into your address.
Why. To reply to your enquiry, and to hold your founding spot and email you about it when ordering opens. Your boat’s name appears on the founding boats list only if you tick that box, and only after we’ve checked it. Untick it, or ask us, and we take it off. If you tick the box, we also email you when BoatTracker is ready, and we record that you ticked it and the exact words you saw.
Where it goes. Your enquiry is stored on our server and copied to Towpath Digital’s customer system, so the whole team sees it in one place and nobody contacts you twice. We don’t sell your details or share them with advertisers.
Reservations also keep a non-identifying campaign label, such as share-wa, when present in the link you followed. This identifies a sharing channel, never the person who sent the link. A signed receipt link shows the reservation number without a name or boat location.
Counting visits. We count visits to this site on our own server, without cookies. For each page we keep the page, the day, whether it was a phone or a computer, the site that linked here, and a coded visitor number. The visitor number changes every day and can’t be turned back into you or linked to another day. Nothing about your visit is sent to Google, Facebook or anyone else.
Your choices. You can stop launch emails at any time from the link in any email. To see, correct or delete what we hold, email [email protected].
