FROM OUR BOAT TO YOURS

Built around life afloat.

Hamish and Mary live aboard Apple Of My Eye, a widebeam on the Great Ouse. Leaving your home on the water brings practical questions: where did the boat last report, has anything moved, and who should hear about a problem?

In 2019 Hamish bought a tracker from an online seller who said they were UK-based. About a year later, the seller and their server disappeared. The tracker had nowhere to report. Finding the old setup email and new server details became another job.

BoatTracker brings the tracker, SIM, setup and private account together. Start with a prepared kit. Choose your alerts and trusted people. Keep control when you change marina.

Steel boat?
Test the spot.

Steel affects satellite and mobile signals. A closed cabin test, fresh position and separate mobile report matter more than a signal claim on a box.

A mooring
which moves.

Continuous cruising needs protection around your new stopping place. The design asks you to check a fresh fix before enabling moored protection again.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES

What still needs proving.

  • The hardware is off the shelf, configured and supported by us. The final package follows testing.
  • Our UK 4G network arrangement is being chosen. Reception and data use need real measurements.
  • For hire fleets, tell hirers what position and event data is recorded, which authorised staff see it and the retention period. The operator’s final notice must be agreed before hire.
  • Fresh contact and fresh position are separate checks. Customer alert delivery, reception and battery behaviour still need physical testing.
  • Steel hulls, winter conditions and supplier delays affect testing and timing.
  • Payment waits for a successful physical bench test, confirmed final prices and the payment service being ready.
  • Refund, cancellation, delivery and renewal terms will be shown before payment. No refund promise has been invented for this preview.

BEFORE YOU RESERVE

Your questions.

Can I have more than one tracker on a boat?

Yes. Some owners want a magnetic tracker they can move, and a hidden wired one. Each tracker has the same price for the same term, and the second one for the same boat is £10 off. Choose two on the reservation form.

Is this a subscription?

No. You pay once for 1, 2 or 3 years (indicative founder prices £99, £159 and £219, including the tracker), with no monthly fee during the included term. The final price, activation and renewal terms are confirmed before you pay.

What happens after the paid years?

Carry on at £60 a year per tracker (indicative), pause or leave. Pause terms are still being worked out and will be clear before payment.

Can I move my tracker to another boat?

Yes. Keep your tracker when you change boats and repeat the fitting-point and recipient tests. Remaining service and ownership-transfer terms are being finalised. Old private journeys never pass to a buyer by default.

Does the tracker become unusable if I leave?

The tracker is yours to keep. Request the model-specific setup-it-yourself guide, remove our SIM and arrange a compatible replacement. You have 30 days after leaving to download your history.

Where is my boat’s data kept?

Our tracking server and account database are hosted in London. Website delivery, payments and email use separate providers. Backup locations and the final processor list need confirmation before paid tracking opens.

Will this work inside a steel boat?

The exact fitting point needs testing with the cabin closed. No reception or battery-life guarantee is being made before the bench and boat tests.

Who sees my boat?

You control named sharing. An alert recipient does not automatically receive a map or journey history. Linking a marina is optional and access is revocable.

What if I already own a tracker?

Compatibility depends on the exact model, radio variant and configuration access. The Founding 20 does not include an own-SIM service tier.

Is a reservation a purchase?

No. Your request reserves interest in a package. No payment is taken and no order is placed. Final kit, prices and terms are confirmed before you pay.
